A Kinky Definition

During last nights discussion group we had a topic about Non Sexual Kink. It seemed to all of us to be an easy and quick topic .. but we quickly had to reconsider.

Our immediate reaction was ‘of course there is non sexual kink’. We put forward examples such as some public topping, or non sexual bondage.

Suddenly we were confronted by a definition that kinky is inherently sexual, meaning one of two things … either public topping isn’t considered kinky, or we were using too narrow a definition of kinky. We concluded it was the latter, so I did some research on definitions and came up with the following ones which more accurately describe our understanding.

Kinky: An activity that is unusual and would be considered strange by most people.

Kinky Sexual Activity: The use of non-conventional sexual practices, concepts or fantasies.

A Kinky Person: Someone who participates in activities that are unusual and would be considered strange by most people and may include kinky sexual activities such as non conventional sexual practices, concepts or fantasies.
